This upper-level/graduate elective course provides an integrated introduction to the design of computer-controlled electromechanical systems, with topics including: mechanical design and prototyping, analog and digital circuitry, sensing and measurement, actuation methods, micro-controller programming, and system integration.
It is a hands-on course that focuses on individual and team projects culminating in a public event at the end of the semester where the electro-mechanical creations are demonstrated.
Open to all graduate students. Undergraduates with at least Junior standing may participate in the class. Working knowledge with a structured programming language is required. C is used extensively in this class.
