Purpose
The extrude is the basic building block of most solidworks models. The command is used to create a solid body from a profile.

Revolve

Purpose
Revolves are used to create a solid body defined by a sketch rotated around an axis.

Basic How-To

1. Create a new sketch

2. Draw a closed sketch
3. Create an axis around which to revolve

In the original sketch

Insert a centerline along the axis around which you intend to revolve the sketch.


As reference geometry

4. Click Revolve in the Command Manager
5. Select the Sketch
6. Select the Axis
7. Input Parameters
