MEAM.Design - MEAM 201 - 12: Return Crank

To transmit motion from the piston connecting rod to the displacer connecting rod, you're going to need to design and manufacture a small crank. A few notes:

1. We will provide you with a 0.25x0.25" stainless steel stock for this part.

2. To easily adjust the timing of the engine, you'll want to build in a way to clamp onto the (provided) 0.1875" diameter return shaft.

3. To attach to the displacer shaft, you will want a 0.156" diameter hole located 0.641" away from the hole for the return shaft. It is advisable that you add a slight chamfer to this hole to ease assembly.
