Assignment
As a team of 2, complete a layup of one part - a step function or a bessel function. This may require multiple layups of each part. Also, create a thermoformed clamshell food container.
Deliverables
1. A carbon fiber part of either the bessel function or the step function.
2. A fully functional thermoformed clamshell food container.
Guidelines
- The teaching staff will provide machined aluminum molds for Carbon and Form.
- Clean up the area after laying up and releasing your part—things can get very messy with layups.
- You can achieve a shiny gloss finish on your Carbon part by repeatedly sanding and reapplying epoxy, followed by polishing/buffing.
- Your Form part should be able to open, close, and have some sort of locking mechanism.
