You can download the videos if you use chrome "View page source" --> then copy the url that has "mp4" in a new tab and then save it.
The process will look something like this (but with a different URL
0. Go to canvas and select the video recording you want, as if you were going to view it
1. View the page source (under "Developer" on my chrome)
2. copy and paste the link with 'mp4' in it (easy to find with Ctrl+F mp4):

3. right click and "save video as"
you can then open it up in a VLC player (when I double click on it on my mac, Quicktime player opens and plays it happily) You can then speed it up as much as you want (in case I don't talk fast enough!) or keep it for future reference.
