Summer Coach Training

Penn FLL offers free coach trainings during August to any registered FLL coach in the Southeastern Pennsylvania region.

All FLL coach trainings will take place at the University of Pennsylvania and include lunch. Once you register for a training, a confirmation email will be sent with directions to campus and the exact location.

2015 Trainings


New Coach Training
Saturday, August 1st, 2015
9am - Noon
This training will cover the basics of what you need to know to be an FLL coach. You will learn how to take your students through robot design, how to guide your students through the project and how to best manage your time during the season.

Project Intensive
Saturday, August 1st, 2015
1pm - 4pm
This training is for returning coaches and new coaches to learn more about how to approach the project and how to help your students present their findings to the judges.

Introduction to Robot Design & Programming with EV3
Saturday, August 1st, 2015
1pm - 5pm
This training is an introduction to robot design and programming with EV3, and topics covered will include use of sensors, feedback control, manipulator design, and using positional error control approaches

Advanced Robot Design & Programming with EV3
Sunday, August 2nd, 2015
10am-5pm
This training is a more advanced look at robot design and programming with EV3. Topics covered will include use of sensors, feedback control, manipulator design, using positional error control approaches, the use of MyBlocks, and PID line following.

Strategies for FLL Success

This training is for returning coaches and new coaches who have attended the New Coach Training. This training will cover tips, hints and tricks to help you approach the FLL challenge and project. The workshop will also cover robot basics with the EV3 Kit.
