Below are the directions for submitting orders for each of the following machines in the AddLab. Please use the following as the body of the email for your request to ensure the best explanation and understanding of your print requirements.

Parts will begin printing as soon as possible. Once your job has completed printing, the part(s) will be cleaned of support material and you will receive an email to arrange for payment and pickup of your part(s).

 

FORTUS 450                                        OBJET 30                                     PROJET 6000

To have a part printed on the Fortus 450, send an email to print3d@seas.upenn.edu with the subject: “Fortus-PennKey-Source” (where PennKey is the part of your email address before the @ sign and Source is an abbreviation of who/what is the purpose of your print) containing the following:

 1. Printer: Fortus

 2. Your name:

 3. Purpose of the Print: This should list what class you are creating the part for, (department and course number), what research lab you are creating the part for, and a short description of the part’s intended use

 4. Layer resolution: (0.005″ or 0.007″ or 0.010″ or 0.013″). Our machine is traditionally set for 0.010″ in ASA for any changes in material or resolution please allow for more lead time.

 5. Fill style: (sparse, double sparse, or solid) – We suggest sparse to reduce print time

 6. Desired Material : (ABS 30, ASA, Nylon 12, or Ultem 9085) – Note Our machine is traditionally set for 0.010″ in ASA. For any changes in material or resolution please allow for more lead time.

 7. Special instructions: (quantity, required orientation, etc.)

 8. Part size: Please estimate the extents of your part so that we can ensure that it is scaled properly. Provide height, width, and length measurements (including units), not a volume measurement.

 9. STL file(s) name(s): – Make sure to attach your part file(s)!  

 

To have a part printed on the Objet 30, send an email to print3d@seas.upenn.edu with the subject: “Objet-PennKey-Source” (where PennKey is the part of your email address before the @ sign and Source is an abbreviation of who/what is the purpose of your print) containing the following:

 1. Printer: Objet

 2. Your name:

 3. Purpose of the Print: This should list what class you are creating the part for, (department and course number), what research lab you are creating the part for, and a short description of the part’s intended use

 4. Desired material/color: (VeroWhitePlus, VeroBlackPlus, or no preference) Note that changing color on the Objet requires additional lead time. We will notify you if this is necessary before printing your part.

 5. Surface finish: (matte or glossy)

 6. Special instructions (quantity, required orientation, etc.)

 7. Part size: Please estimate the extents of your part so that we can ensure that it is scaled properly. Provide height, width, and length measurements (including units), not a volume measurement.

 8. STL file(s) name(s): – Make sure to attach your part file(s)!

To have a part printed on the ProJet 6000, send an email to print3d@seas.upenn.edu with the subject: “ProJet-PennKey-Source” (where PennKey is the part of your email address before the @ sign and Source is an abbreviation of who/what is the purpose of your print) containing the following:

 1. Printer: ProJet

 2. Your name:

 3. Purpose of the Print: This should list what class you are creating the part for, (department and course number), what research lab you are creating the part for, and a short description of the part’s intended use

 4. Layer resolution: (0.004″ or 0.002″)

 5. Desired material/color: We are currently only operating the Projet in Visijet Clear material

6. Special instructions: (quantity, required orientation, etc.)

7. Part size: Please estimate the extents of your part so that we can ensure that it is scaled properly. Provide height, width, and length measurements (including units), not a volume measurement.

8. STL file(s) name(s): – Make sure to attach your part file(s)!
