These are the slides from a talk that I gave at a computer science research conference called SPLASH/Onward in October of 2010. The assignment was to create a talk about photography that would be interesting to software engineers and scientific researchers and, in some way, illuminate the processes of creative discovery that are common to these apparently disparate endeavors.
