Old Announcements

4/23/2012 - As with the midterm exam, the final exam will be open-book, but Internet access will be prohibited. From the information on the registrar's web page, the exam is scheduled for Tuesday May 1st, 2012, 12:00-2:00pm in DRLB A4.

The scope of the exam includes everything we have covered in the class from the start of the semester. However, the focus will be on material that was not part of the midterm's scope. In other words, while some problem may call on your knowledge of, say, OSPF or EIGRP, there wont be a full problem targeting solely the operation of the OSPF or EIGRP protocols. Again, as with the midterm, you are strongly encouraged to check past final exams that are all available on the wiki. The one caveat is that since we covered "Lookups" at the end of the semester instead of the start, which was the norm in previous years, "lookup" related problems are often to be found in past midterm exams rather than past final exams.
Note: The topic "Routing & Traffic Engineering" that has been covered in the last class (slides 83 and onward of TrafMgt.pptx) will not be included in the final exam. However, everything else in the slide-deck TrafMgt.pptx will.

4/09/2012 - As mentioned in class this morning, the last homework (Homework No. 10) has been posted in the Assignments section of the wiki.
Note that it is only due on Monday April 23rd, 2012, at the start of class, which is our last class of the semester. I hesitated on whether or not to assign one more homework on traffic management, which we finished covering this morning, but decided that there are enough sample problems on the topic in past exams for you to practice for the final exam. Instead, Homework No. 10 will be a bit longer than usual, and so you should plan on getting started early even if we wont have covered everything you need to do the problems until probably the end of next week.

4/4/2012 - A reminder that project presentations will be held on Thursday 4/5, 4/12, and 4/19 at 5pm in DRLB 3W2.
Please remember that presentations are 10mins followed by 5mins of questions. I will stop presentations sharply after 10mins if they are not finished, so please plan your slides accordingly.

Project presentations are open for all to attend, and so feel free to come if your are interested.
For those of you presenting projects, please remember that I need to have received the final version of your slides and report by 10:00am on the day of your presentation.

3/19/2012 - Homework No. 7 has been posted in the Assignments section of the wiki, and it is due on Monday March 26th, 2012, at the start of class.

3/14/2012 - Solutions to the midterm exam have been posted under Solutions to Past Exams.

3/02/2012 - MIDTERM EXAM SPLIT ROOM ASSIGNMENT. Because Moore 216 is not large enough to accommodate all 48 students with alternate seating, and there were no room large enough to fit the whole class anywhere on campus, we had to split the class across two rooms. As a result, the first 12 students in the class list (listed below), have been assigned to take the exam in room DRLB 4C2. If your name is not in the list below, you should take the exam in our regular classroom, Moore 216.
